On Wednesday, November 26, students from the Interact Club at Chatham High School delivered full Thanksgiving meals to four local families. The meals included all the traditional sides and even a turkey.
“This project was a great way to give back to the community. It’s important to give when you can because you never know what someone is going through,” said freshman Carsyn Powers.
Students met at Food Lion to purchase the items, packed everything into vehicles, and then delivered the meals to each of the four families in the community.
During the week of November 17 to 21, the Beta Club and Interact Club also teamed up for a schoolwide canned food drive. Together, they collected 1,122 nonperishable items, which were donated to the Northern Pittsylvania County Food Bank.
